Infinity Foundation
Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley is very grateful to have received a grant from the Infinity Foundation in late 2012. This covered costs of resources for bereaved parents and families.
Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley has been fortunate in receiving COGS funding at different times over the past six years. We received grants of $3000 in 2013 and in 2014. These are used for our baskets project (providing baskets, clothing and memory materials in the hospitals) and for administrative purposes (our storage unit for example).
Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley also received NZ Lotteries funding in 2010 and in 2016.
In 2010, the Wellington Soroptimists generously donated $700 from their annual fashion show to Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley for the continued provision of Moses baskets and clothing to bereaved parents and families in our region.
The Lions Club Wellington generously donated $2000 in 2009 for the Wellington Regional Hospital's Pohutukawa Room. This is a designated room for parents and families whose babies have died. We were able to provide furniture, a microwave oven, manchester and kitchen equipment.
In 2008 the Cathy Pelly Trust generously donated $5000 to Sands Wellington to enable us to continue to support bereaved parents and families in the greater Wellington region.
