Glover Memorials - Plaques
Glover Memorials kindly donates small plaques to Sands parents. These simple memorials are made from granite and marble samples, and come in various colours. The pieces are only 10cm x 6cm or 6cm square, but big enough to put a name and a date on. Glover Memorials donate all the materials and time, and ship it to your address free of charge. To arrange this, simply email info@glovermemorials.co.nz with your child's name and a date. Please include your name and an address to send the plaque to. Donate a copy of our book 'A Tribute to Tabitha-Rose: Stories of Baby & Infant Loss in NZ" to your local hospital
For a special price of $15 you can donate a copy of our book to your local hospital, so bereaved parents and families receive a complimentary copy of the book.
If you would like to write a dedication or memorial in teh front of teh book, we'll send you a specially designed sticker that you send back to us and we place in the front of the book. Otherwise we are happy to add the details you send us, or we can leave it blank - it's up to you.
This is a lovely way of reaching out to other bereaved parents and to remember your baby or child in an affirming way. It also makes a big difference to the experience of newly bereaved parents and families to receive a book and know that they are not alone.

A NZ company offers a different way of keeping your loved one's ashes. Here's some info from their website...
'This permanent commemoration has the colour of your choice at its centre, with the ashes appearing as subtle scattering of soft white powder. The beauty of the design is further enhanced by the addition of lustrous lines of dichroic glass which together with the ashes spiral upwards. The completed sphere is ground and polished at its base and a name, dates and a message can be engraved on it. Maria James - memory stones
This is another NZ company that makes beautiful memory stones, amongst its many products. You can have your baby's name and dates carved on a stone, or perhaps some words that are meaningful to you.

Hand and Footprint jewellery
You can have a beautiful handcrafted keepsake made using an image of your baby's hand or foot. These are miniaturized down to fit onto charms, pendants, cufflinks or keyrings. Both Smallprints and Fingerprints are NZ businesses that offer this service. It is simply a matter of sending them a COPY of the images you have via email.

You may be able to get a handcrafted keepsake made using your baby's fingerprint - this is usually done using silver, and the impression your baby makes on the silver becomes the piece of jewellery. As you can imagine, this needs to be organized while you still have baby with you, and isn't always possible. It is best to contact Jennifer and Delia, as noted above, to discuss whether this might be possible.

Carly Marie, a wonderful Australian woman, will write your baby's name in the sand at sunset and take a photo. Her work is beautiful. She has quite a waiting list so you may have to be patient.
