Are you a bereaved parent who has been supported by Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley and would like to return the support? (Or perhaps a family member or friend of a bereaved parent?) Is the idea of joining a committee just a bit much, yet you’d still really like to help in some way? Do you have some specific skills you’d like to use for the benefit of the community?
Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley is establishing a ‘supporters programme’ called ‘Friends of Sands WHV’. The idea is very simple – you let us know if you’d like to help us out, when you might be available and what you could do, and we contact you when we need some extra help with different events.
For example, during Baby Loss Awareness Week we provide morning tea to Wellington and Hutt Hospitals through our ‘Caring for the Carers’ event. You might enjoy baking so you would be on our list for that specific event. We’d let you know the details and maybe you’d make something for one of the morning teas.
Or perhaps you have a trailer and can provide some physical support from time to time. An example would be our Memorial Service at Old St Pauls during Matariki in June. We always need to transport large equipment to the church – perhaps that’s something you could help us out with?
Maybe there’s an expo or seminar that we’ve been invited to and we need some people to be there to staff a display, answer questions and give out fliers.
Or maybe you are a keen knitter or sewer and would like to make items of clothing and small remembrance items that are given to bereaved parents in our hospitals?
If you’re interested – let us know by filling out the form below. We’ll be in contact with you. Thanks!
