Here is some information about our local in-person support meetings, and various national online support meetings hosted by Sands.
Sands Wellington-Hutt Valley Support Meetings
We hold one meeting per month (on the first Wednesday of each month), at our Johnsonville venue (Plunket Rooms*, Rotoiti Street, Johnsonville).
Meetings start at 7:30pm and finish at 9:30pm. Please feel very welcome to join us for a cuppa and a chat :-)

*Why do we hold our meetings at Plunket Rooms? We are lucky to have a long-lasting relationship with Johnsonville Plunket and they provided us with a free venue for many years and now only charge us a nominal fee for using the rooms. We try to remove or cover any images of babies; and there aren't too many as it's a relatively new building and there are a small number of noticeboards etc. We also feel strongly that we fit the criteria for using the building as we are all parents - some of us just don't have our babies physically present with us. However, we do understand that coming to a meeting in a Plunket building might be very hard, and also triggering for some bereaved parents. Please do let us know if this is the case for you.

Sands NZ has four regular online support meetings that use the Zoom platform.

- Open meeting for all bereaved parents and whānau- first Thursday evening of the month, 8:00-9:15pm
- Empty Arms - for bereaved parents with no living children, second Wednesday evening of each month, 8:00-9:15pm
- Pregnancy After Loss Support - on the third Wednesday of the month, 7:30-8:45pm
- Rainbow Whānau Baby Loss Support - for Parents, Families and Whānau from our LGBTQIA+ Communities, last Wednesday of the month, 7:30-8:45pm
